I’m back today with a new six piece collection by Celestial Cosmetics. This was released in Australia a couple of weeks back, however is now set for release in their US warehouse.
The Stars Collection is a collaboration between Celestial and various members of their Facebook Group, Celestial’s Stars. Members provided inspiration images and names to help create six marvellous shades for release.
Sunrise On Venus, I can say, is one of my favourites of this collection. The base colour is pink but it also has the very slightest apricot tone to it in some lighting. It has an awesome green shimmer throughout, slight scattered holo and tiny green micro glitter.
The formula is on the thicker side, but absolutely not unworkable at all, perfect for retaining it’s effect and not having to apply too many coats. My swatches are two thin coats plus topcoat.
Pale Moon Rising is a slightly muted light sky blue base with loads of silver flakes and shredded glitter that takes on different colours. It also has a substantial amount of pink sparkle throughout.
This shade was quite translucent on the first coat but built up nicely with three coats shown here.
Stars In Our Souls is definitely one for the glitter lovers out there! It is a magical blend of sapphire, soft pink, bright pink holo microglitters. The base is very lightly tinted blue and it built up quite nicely for an opaque appearance. I would also recommend layering it over your favourite base colour. The polish appears midway between a blue and a purple depending on your lighting.
My swatches are three coats with the final coat lightly dabbled on. One coat of topcoat was all that I needed for a smooth finish.
Sunset Dreams is another favourite of mine from this release. It has an almost murky orange base colour, sort of terracotta, with lots of small colour changing metallic flakes and a nice amount of scattered holo.
My swatch of this one is only two coats plus topcoat. I had some small issue with one of the flakes sticking up a little, but didn’t find that to be an problem with application. I could have manoeuvred it a little if I wasn’t so lazy!
The Final Frontier has a very dark blue base and is filled with lots of vibrant purple sparks and silver flakes that show up with amazing depth. This polish appears almost black in low light and is more violet in appearance than my images show The purple shimmer is far stronger than you see in my images. The final colour sometimes has a slight teal cast to it. It’s really quite a fascinating colour.
I found this one to be a little bit patchy on the first coat but it built up for a solid finish nicely with thicker than usual coats. My swatches are two coats plus topcoat.
Finally we have Point Of No Return. This has a dark charcoal coloured base. It’s not quite as dark as a true black, but that’s probably because of all that fantastic holo in there! It also has the addition of small red iridescent pops throughout that give it something special. I really enjoyed this one.
My swatches are two coats plus one coat of topcoat. Application was a breeze with no issues.
I really enjoyed this little collection. The inclusion of three blue-toned polishes out of six had me a bit…. ‘Where’s the greens?!!’ But I can live with that because the other colours certainly make me swoon.
As I mentioned, The Stars Collection is available right now in the Australian store for domestic shipping.
These will also be releasing tomorrow in Celestial’s US based store at 9am ACST, that is 7.30pm EDT on August 24th.
Each polish will be available individually and as usual you can enjoy a 10% discount for the first 48hours of release.
