Celestial Cosmetics Galaxy & Me Collection

July 1, 2017

Today I have a huge post for you containing a new collection from Celestial Cosmetics. The ‘Galaxy & Me’ Collection debuted at Aussie Indie Con June 17th and was well received by attendees there. Now it is being made available to the public from Monday July 3rd and boy oh boy there are some really snappy polishes in this release.

The Galaxy & Me Collection are all multichrome style polishes, though some are far stronger than others, and contain a dash of holographic sparkle that adds to their depth. They are a partial collaboration between Celestial and myself as I really aided Nicki with getting some fun names and making sure she released them as I knew she had them waiting for quite a while. I’m sure you’ll agree, it was time to set them free! There are eight polishes in total in this release so I’m not going to waste any more time with words.

You Matter- Artificial Light

‘You Matter’ has a green-purple-gold shift with a slight teal wist to it as well. While the shift is extremely visible to the naked eye, it was hard to capture on camera. It’s a stunning forest green colour and one I really enjoyed from this release. It was very easy to apply and opaque too, with my swatches being two thin coats and topcoat. In bright lighting I did notice some bald patches while are likely to have happened because I didn’t wait long enough between coats.

Why So Sirius- Artificial Light

‘Why So Sirius’ is a super flashy bright lime green that contains a wealth of different green shades that all move eventually to gold. It really is quite a ‘gemstone’ looking polish and one of my favourites in the collection even though the shifts are more subtle. This polish is made up of slightly larger colour shifting flakes rather than a super smooth pigment, although the end finish is smooth.
My swatches are two coats and topcoat and as you can see, the final result is a manicure that is vibrant AF.

We Didn’t Even Planet- Artificial Light

‘We Didn’t Even Planet’ is a brilliant teal-toned royal blue shade with a small purple shift. The polish shift was very minor for me but I adored the colour regardless. As with the other so far, this shade was two thin coats and topcoat.

Lust In Space- Artificial Light

‘Lust In Space’ is an unquestionable favourite for me from this collection and was the polish I wore to Indie Con. The shift in this one is amazingly strong and I really think it’s going to be a firm favourite to a load of people. The holo effect in it is also quite strong but it’s really that contrasting shift that brings it to a whole other level. The base is a deep hunter green and the shifting pigment move eggplant-green-bronze very easily.
My swatches are two thin coats and topcoat again that applied smoothly and easily.

It’s Just A Phase- Artificial Light

‘It’s Just A Phase’ is a smooth blue-purple-gold shifting polish. The shift was very hard to capture but you can definitely see the purple in some angles. Highly pigmented and easy to apply, my swatches are two thin coats plus topcoat.

Celestial Cosmetics Doin’ The NASAty- Artificial Light

The most outstanding polish of the collection, for both strength of shift and the colour, is ‘Doin The NASAty’. I mean, come on! With it’s deep burgundy-gold-bronze shift and dusting of holo, it’s the type of galaxy I’d like to visit. Two thin coats and topcoat did it for me with this one. I just love it!

Comet ME Bro!- Artificial Light

‘Comet Me Bro!’ is slightly unique in this collection having much larger colour shifting flakes as opposed to the smaller pigment. It’s absolutely beautiful though and doesn’t it make you want to dive into it! The shift is quite stunning moving teal-green-purple and other blue-ish shades in between. This was lovely and smooth to apply, just two coats and topcoat again for my swatches.

Are You Mooning Me?- Artificial Light

The eigth and final shade in the Galaxy & Me Collection is ‘Are You Mooning Me?’ and it’s another one that hits the top in my favourites line-up. The base is a delicious olive type green with a strong shifting pigment that moves magenta-gold-green and is very vibrant. My swatches show two coats and topcoat which I found to be just enough however depending on how thin your application style is, you might want to go a third.
