In between preparing for Aussie Indie Con and prepping my own line of products I’ve been doing a tiny bit of swatching lately. It’s been fun, but I’m definitely a little off my game, especially when it comes to the intricate beauty of polishes by Femme Fatale Cosmetics.
If you can forgive my out-of-practice swatching skills, today you can take a look at their June colour of the month, Aldebaran which will be available for pre-order from June 1st.
I snapped quite a few images of this one, firstly, because I really loved it, and secondly because the colour changing iridescent glitters looked amazing where ever I turned my hand and the glimmer from the holo sparks just kept catching my eye.
Aldebaran has a deep crimson coloured base, partway in consistency between a jelly and regular tinted. As you apply the layers, the colour deepens substantially, making the colour deep, deep red wine in dark shade/indoors to quite bright in other types of lighting. The iridescent glitters move in colour from vibrant red-orange-gold-green. They’re really very stunning!
Most of my images are taken in partial shade outside on a very sunny day. I did take one photo in the sun just to see what it looked like, and it did show the individual glitters and sparkle very well, however not as much of the awesomeness of the colour shifting glitters. The free edge you see in my sunlight shot was not at all evident in real life and I don’t believe this polish need a base colour at all.
Aldebaran applied very nicely despite the amount of glitters. I found it to be quite opaque showing no VNL after two coats, however I did apply a third coat for extra depth. My first two coats were quite thin and my third coat a little thicker and gently floating it on top. I finished off with one coat of Seche. I actually only removed this polish yesterday as I enjoyed it so much. It was a pleasure to wear around and showed very little tipwear after a few days of work and life.
As I mentioned earlier, Aldebaran will go on sale in a 48 hour pre-order June 1st from Femme Fatale Cosmetics who ship worldwide. Make sure to check out their Facebook group for extra details on the release.
Also releasing is the new five piece Opalescent Collection which I will have on here in the next day or two.
