Since we’re in the midst of stunning, beach weather at the moment I thought it would be a great time to share with you these fabulous products from Rimmel to help give you that sun-kissed look. Heck, even if you’re on the other side of the planet, you can use a touch of it in Winter to give yourself some warmth.
The products I have here today are just perfect for a clean daytime look or paired with some punchy eyeliner and lippie for a fresh evening look. For myself, I would happily use these during the day to make myself appear a little more human, but I’d be lying to you if I said I went anywhere but my bed at nighttime.
I haven’t worn an artificial tan for many, many years. Gosh, way back when they were quite obviously unnatural. Being quite olive already, it’s not something I have felt is necessary for my skin type. But in Winter, or just spending a lot of time indoors, my skin can go quite pasty looking, so I would benefit from a product like this as I do like a little bit of glow. Plus, it’s nice to treat yourself right? Because when you feel good, you look good!
I recommend always starting your tanning process by making sure you’ve exfoliated away any dry skin, this gives the tan a nice, smooth canvas on which to work. Making sure to use sparingly around areas of dry skin, like knees, ankles and elbows. Rimmel Instant Sun Shimmer comes in variations of colour to help you achieve the look you’re after. You can even mix shades to create your perfect glow. I received the dark version which suited me fine.
The product has a lovely scent to it and foams out of the nozzle very nicely. It was super easy to apply but looked shockingly dark on my hands with a definite brown tint as opposed to the orange I expected. As I applied it I realised it didn’t apply too dark and it could easily be built up. It washed off my hands nicely after leaving no staining which was great. I found that it didnt make a huge difference in my skin colour but I could se a nice, gentle tint which is probably better. I snapped a quick pic of it on my legs. OMG it is really hard to take a picture of your own legs, while holding the camera, and not have them look strange…
The next product is this brilliant pallet of nude eye-shadows which I really, really love. Rimmel Magnif’Eyes, Keep Calm & Wear Gold as a nice selection of regular shades, couple of heavily sparkly ones and two that have a light sparkle. I think it’s such a beautiful combination and for myself, I much prefer neutral type shades just to give my eyelids some definition and a whisper of colour.
I think with all these products together, adding a touch of black mascara and a pop of colour on your nails, some juicy lip balm, creates a look I would happily roll with. What do you think? Do you go with a light touch of makeup or a full face?
