Rimmel & Kate Moss 15yr Anniversary Collection

September 28, 2016

I love Rimmel products, I always have, especially their polishes, but definitely their lipsticks and I was lucky enough to get my hands on this new collection released in collaboration with the iconic Kate Moss. This collection is made up of six highly opaque lippies in Kate’s favourite red’s and nudes. Two of my favourite shades, so how could I pass these up?!!

My daily routine in my attempt to look ‘awake’ is primer moisturiser, eye cream, foundation, mascara and lipstick. If I just wear these items daily, I feel done enough to face the world. Because of this, I am always on the lookout for great lipsticks to give my face some colour. I don’t do pinks, purples, or any cool tones, but nudes and reds that lean warm are totally my dish.

First up I must talk about this packaging, isn’t it beautiful! Each shade is encased in a stunning rose gold tube that is just so beautiful on it’s own. Given the current rose gold trend, just the casing is going to make these must-haves. But is the product inside as good as I expected it to be?!

Each shade is designed with a high impact, creamy formula that’s infused with light reflecting black diamonds. The promise from Rimmel is that these luminous and richly coloured shades last up to eight hours on your lips giving you a pout to die for.

The reds are intensely vibrant and each different and worthy of their place in this collection. Idol Red leans very warm and is amazingly punchy. I wore this one around for a test and it held up to drinking coffee without any fading, needing a small touch up after lunch, but was still as vibrant as the morning by early evening. This is a red that pack a punch. Muse Red is a little cooler than Idol but more of the true, classic red in the collection. Incredibly sexy! Retro Red has a crimson tone to is and is pretty dark, but not too dark, it’s perfect and my favourite shade to wear around from these three.

In the tubes, the nudes all appear a bit similar, but once wearing them, their very different. Rock’n’Roll Nude has an evident pink cast to it, Boho Nude and brownish cast, and My Nude sits right in the middle. It’s also my favourite. I am not a huge fan of Rock’n’Roll Nude as that pink colour just doesn’t look great on me, but the formula of it, and the other two are as awesome as the reds, having really long wear and staying incredibly fresh looking through your daily activities.

What do you think? If you wear lippies what colours to you float towards? I think these are great standard shades to have in the cosmetic arsenal with a shade from each side to suit everyone.

You can get your hands on these shades now for $13.95 from most Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Kmart (yasssss) and Big W, plus selected pharmacies, Woolworths and Coles.
