Today I have a review of three Color Club stamping plates sent to me by Color4Nails who recently added a huge range to their line-up. I was super excited to try these plates so let’s find out what I thought of them.
Each plate arrived in a cardboard sleeve and with a protective plastic sheet over the etching. First appearances told me the etching was not very ‘deep’ so I was not too sure how they would go once I saw this. Each image looked super detailed and quite impressive, although nothing on any of the plates I received stood out as being unique.
Each plate comes with a strong plastic backing which I really like and features 12 images per plate.
First up I have the Calavera Plate. This is filled with a mix of skulls and roses. With each plate I randomly chose four images and stamped one on each nail. For this particular plate I found a lot of these images were quite large and therefore difficult to tell what they were once stamping. While the block areas of the images transferred nicely, I had a fair bit of trouble with the finer lines of the images.
I think it makes a nice abstract style design but I’m not 100% sure about it. I will give it another go sometime as I think this plate will be great for Halloween.
Next up I have the Japan Plate which was my favourite of the three I tried. I found this one also picked up best for me apart from the image on my middle finger. I was really happy with this one and will happily use it again.
Lastly I have the Food Plate. I would not normally wear any type of food images on my nail at all so it would be hard for me to think what to do with this one. I can see the cupcakes and ice-creams making cool little decals though. I had the most trouble with this plate of the three, particularly with the text image. After several tried this was probably the best I could get out of it. Despite moving very fast with my stamping due to the etching being so light, it just didn’t transfer as nicely as I’d hoped.
You can grab these plates and many more great products from Color4Nails who ship worldwide. Each plate retails for $10 USD each and the selection is massive.
