I’m back today to participate in the monthly link-up with the girls from Paint All The Nails, a group of supremely talented bloggers who make blogging just that much more fun! This month our nail art prompt was Colour Block which I was super excited about as I just love ALL colour block mani’s. It really is one of my favourite style, though one that I don’t do too often. I totally need to change that after this one though!
I knew I wanted a negative space type feel to my colour block as it’s one of my favourites to play with. When researching for this link-up I came across THESE fabulous nails by the talented Sarah at Chalkboard Nails and just HAD to use them as my inspiration which you can clearly see.
For this manicure I used all gel polish from Opallac. I started off recreating from Sarah’s manicure first, which shows the nude and red in the manicure.
My base is Soy Capp, and the red I used is called Seductress. I loved it just as it was but decided to take the manicure a little further and add a third colour, Thunderstruck, the shimmery dark grey gel. I then added a little silver triangle stud to finish the look. I topped off my manicure with Opallac’s UV Topcoat.
Can I tell you how proud I am of this manicure? For looks like this, with polish, I would normally use striping tape to create my lines. However with this being gel polish, and striping tape not being the best medium to work with with it, I decided to freehand my lines with a super thin nail art brush. Guys… I NEVER free hand. So, I am really happy with how these turned out!
I really adored these and want to try them again as soon as I can, but with different colours next time. They looked so smart and edgy on!
Would you wear something like this?
Don’t forget to go and check out the other Colour Block manicures the girls have created via the link-up below. They’ll be adding their links throughout the day (I am super early with my post, because busy)
