KBShimmer Exclusives for Color4Nails

July 2, 2016

Eeeeeep! I have been so excited to share this post with you! Today I have two new KBShimmers for you, and despite my obsession with loving almost everything they put out, this was my first experience of actually using the brand! After finally trying KBShimmer, I think we’re going to have a very nice relationship. Sorry wallet!

KBShimmer is online retailer, Color4Nails, newest addition to their fantastic line-up, and in celebration they have created two store exclusive polishes, What The Shell, and Berried In The Sand.

I am so in love with both of these for different reasons! Let’s have a look!

What The Shell

First up is ‘What The Shell’. This is a nougat coloured creme, with a slight pink lean and ash tones. Throughout it sits a subtle but noticeable holographic sparkle and the most beautiful pink-gold shifting flake shimmer. The shimmer was really difficult for me to capture in photos, but it’s definitely there. You can it it quite well in the bottle on some of my images. It’s not one of those shimmers you can only see in the bottle rest assured. This is a really beautiful neutral shade!

The formula is one the thicker side, but not un-manageable at all. It levels itself very well, and you’ll find that once you add topcoat, it smooths out even more. You will need topcoat to make the shimmers shine with this one. For my swatches I’ve applied two thin coats and Clearly On Top topcoat.

Berried In The Sand

Next up is ‘Berried In The Sand’, and this one my friends, is VIBRANT! This polish has a glowing quality to it making it appear almost gem-like on. It’s stunning, I was SO impressed! It is a rich fuchsia pink with pink micro-shimmer which is what gives it depth and makes it lean slightly violet in some lighting. It also has an amazing linear holographic effect.

The formula on this one is perfect and super pigmented. I applied two thin coats for my swatches, but really, I think most people would likely get away with one coat. I wanted as much vibrancy as I could get so that’s the only reason for my extra coat. My swatches are all without topcoat.

Both these polishes are releasing Sunday July 3rd at Color4Nails at 3pm pdt. You won’t find these anywhere else, and they will not be restocked once sold out so if you fancy either or both, I recommend grabbing them at the launch.

I am so pleased that KBShimmer was everything I had expected it to be, and I cannot wait to try more in the future!

Can i ask you a question? I saw your Coronation dupe attempt and I have hundreds of clear swatch sticks. I want to swatch my whole collection to work out which ones are dupes and which ones i can dupe by mixing colours lol. Plus i want to be able to reference the true colours of each polish for future use. Do you recommend i use no base colour, black, white or a pale pink which is close to my nail plate colour 😀

    • I would use no base and do three coats of colour even it it was opaque with less. Black or white would effect the colours too much and a nude/pink might work but, best is to keep it clear.

Thank you babe, i will do them ‘natural’ and with a nude underneath and see what difference i get. Much appreciate the advice <3
