Femme Fatale Cosmetics Lonely Mountain Swatches

July 9, 2016

We haven’t seen any Femme Fatale’s on here for a while, and I have so many that have never been swatched, so this week I tried my newest addition, Lonely Mountain. OMG guys! It is gorgeous!

Lonely Mountain is one of the polishes from the recently released There And Back Again Collection inspired by The Hobbit, There And Back Again written by JRR Tolkien. This is one of my FAVOURITE books of all time, so I was super excited how it would be translated into polish. In the end, Lonely Mountain ended up being the only polish from the collection that called to me, and I am SO glad I grabbed it!

The polish has a caramel, molten looking base colour, midway between a creme and jelly and is filled with the most stunning shimmer micro flakes that shift from a vibrant green to pink and blue. I had NO idea of the shift in the microflakes when I bought it, I just thought it was a green shimmer, but once you see it in person… UGH! I died.

I wasn’t too sure if the base colour would compliment my skin tone however I was pleasantly surprised with how it looked. It was delicious to look at and totally reminded me of Rolo caramel…..

For these swatches, I applied two thin coats and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

As I was playing around with it I decided I would love to see it matte so of course, I went ahead and did it after painting on some chevrons using part of one of the Art Deco stencils from What’s Up Nails. I matted the look using Dance Legend Satin Finish topcoat, which sadly made my black lines run a little. So bummed, because it looked so good without the streaks.

I love it, just LOVE it, and I feel it’s been such a long time since I felt the love of a single polish. To be more clear, there are so many polishes that I show on here that I really adore, but every now and then (and for me it’s been a while) a polish comes along and makes you go, ‘And that’s why I love my handmades’. Wearing this inspired me to find Β the ‘more’ in the polishes again like I felt I used to. I hope you’ll enjoy where this takes me!

Lonely Mountain was sold in a pre-sale event at Femme Fatale Cosmetics, however that is now over, but it might make a return in the future. You can stalk their Facebook page for pre-sale information here. Also this polish either is, or will be, available from worldwide stockists very soon.

What do you think of this polish? Is it a shade you would wear?
