Today I have a bit of a mix-it-up post filled with random swatches of one of my favourite international brands, Spell Polish. You’ve heard me say it before, and I stand my ground, Spell Polish is one of my favourite brands of artisan polish. Always good quality and always a treat for myself.
We all need to treat ourselves sometimes, trust me, I am needing treats right now big time! Things are insane around here at the moment! Let’s lose ourselves together in the polish.
First up is Firefly Fairies from the ‘Legends And Dreams’ Collection. This is a vibrant chartreuse coloured shimmer polish with little iridescent and holographic glitters. I love the little pops of turquoise that sit in this polish. The polish has a potential to appear streaky from the shimmer on camera, however off camera, it all melds together to make a beautiful colour. Kind of reminds me of a cocktail of some kind. Some days I need a cocktail of some kind….
I applied three thin coats for my swatches but you could get away with two coats depending on your application.
Next up is Glittering Owl, also from the ‘Legends And Dreams’ Collection. This one is super pretty and I was really excited to try it based on the beautiful swatches I’d seen. It has a rich violet jelly style base with a whole heap of blue shimmer and tiny multi-chrome flakies inside.
It appears pretty sheer at first but builds ups nicely as you layer it. My swatches show three thin coats of Glittering Owl.
Next up is an older release from Spell Polish. This is Shyster from ‘The Revenge Of The Duds’ Collection. This is a fantastically pigmented multichrome polish that shifts warm violet-blue-purple-red-gold. The shift was hard to catch on camera, but you can definitely see it on your nails. Spell’s multichrome have always impressed me, so I really recommend this one out of the range.
My swatches show just two thin coats and topcoat.
Next up is this vibrant blue based multichrome, it’s freaking unreal! Clodhopper is also from ‘The Revenge Of The Duds’ Collection, and while it is blue based, it is this stunning emerald green multichrome shimmer polish. It shift vibrantly through green-teal-blue-gold. I can’t get enough of looking at it!
For my swatches I applied just two thin coats. I can see myself wearing this one a LOT!
The final two polishes I have to show you today are matte finish ones. I do love a good matte finish polish and have quite a few of them in my stash. These fit right in with shades and finishes I love.
Firstly I have Dark Horse. This is a blackened navy blue polish with lots of fine blue-green shimmer. It dries to a nice waxy finish meaning you can definitely still see the shimmer in the polish which is great. For my swatches I’ve applied two thin coats. You certainly can apply topcoat over this one if you want to accentuate the shimmer.
Finally today, this is Golden Handcuffs. Bahahaha. I am not really sure about what the name means, but I conjure up all kinds of imagery with this one! Another matte finish, this one is a warm caramel brown filled with lots of golden shimmer.
My swatches are two thin coats and no topcoat as I wanted to capture it matte. Again, you can apply topcoat to really bring the shimmer out and make those handcuffs sparkle.
So which of these do you fancy? DO you like multichromes, matte finish or shimmery beauties?
You can find Spell Polish HERE where they ship worldwide! Releases are becoming a bit more frequent now which is excellent to see from this brand.
