It’s time to break out your peel-off base coat because today I have a super sparkly, glitter filled collection from Australian indie brand, Miss Priss Polish. The Celebration Collection Part 1 is made up of five polishes all full of silver holographic base, different glitters and flakes.
Before I get into the meat of the post I will mention that I did have substantial problems with the formulas on most of these, you will see that mentioned throughout. Of course, I let the maker know and all formulas have now been re-worked for better consistency, however all now lean slightly more silver than my photos show. This is because to even out the glitters, the recipe had to be adjusted and more silver holographic base added. Best to mention that at the start I think!
Keep The Drinks Coming is a silver holographic base with two sizes of silver holographic glitter, delicate golden flakies, and blue microglitter. I always enjoy the textured finish of microglitters so this one, and all the others shown here today are photographed without topcoat.
My swatches show two coats of the polish. The second coat was carefully dabbed on to ensure coverage and because of all the glitter, was quite difficult to use.
Late Into The Night has a silver holographic base with two sizes of silver holographic glitter, delicate golden flakies and purple microglitter. The mix of pink with silver in this one gave me a warm lavender feel to it and I quite liked the colour blend.
Again, my swatch shows two coats of polish with the second coat very carefully dabbed on.
Party O’Clock has a silver holographic base with two sizes of silver holographic glitter, delicate golden flakes and pink microglitter. This one looked really ‘vintage’ on with a similar texture to the others I’ve mentioned. My swatch shows two coats, no topcoat.
Party Like It’s Your Birthday has a silver holographic base with two sizes of silver holographic glitter, golden flakes, and silver holographic star glitters. This was the one from this collection that was quite nice to use. It’s consistency was much smoother than the others and I didn’t have to dab it on. I applied two coats and no topcoat for my swatches. I will recommend adding topcoat for regular wear at least with this one as the stars have pretty sharp edges and you wouldn’t want to have them catch on anything.
Save The Date To Celebrate has a silver holographic base, two sizes of silver holographic glitter, golden flakes and green microglitter. I love the colour of this shade, and it’s formula, although still thick was better than the first three I’ve shown from the collection. I really enjoyed how this one looked on.
Overall, I was not as enthusiastic about this collection as I thought I would be. The formula’s were a bit off, the gold flakes are a bit tricky to remove, especially if you get them on your skin, and they just didn’t wow me. Of course, the formula has now changed, so I would assume they are much, much nicer to use. I also, in hindsight, should have sponged the final coat of polish on rather than trying to use the brush. Live and learn, right?! I can certainly see these being great for feature nails or sponging nail art with vinyls in the future!
The Celebration Collection Part 1 is available now from Miss Priss Polish who ship within Australia only.
What do you think? Are you an intense sparkle lover?!!
