Today is another Paint All The Nails link-up day. Without question, this is now my favourite part of the month on the blog, being able to see what we all create and visit each other. I hope you’ll do the same! ou can check out past link-ups HERE if you missed them.
This month we all voted on pastel colours to be used, but with that being a very broad genre, we narrowed it down and came up with Pastel Geometric.
As soon as I saw this I knew immediately what I wanted to do, and went ahead and did it. So in fact, this has been the most prepared I’ve ever been for one of these link-ups which usually involves me dashing about at the last minute, half the time a little unhappy with what I put out. I really like these ones though!
Since more traditional pastel colours don’t really suit me (I think) I wanted to use some sort of bright pastel colours, and this is what I came up with.
Firstly I painted a white base on my nails, in this case I used Pretty Serious Cosmetics Presence. I then tried a method I never have before. Smooshing?! I don’t know if that’s what it’s called, but it’ll do, and I have now adopted that name. Edit- I’ve now found out through knowledgeable sources that it is a type of marbling with a stamper (haha thanks Emily!) I’m sticking with the ‘smooshing technique’ though 😉
To create my ‘smooshing’ I grabbed my colours and dropped some on my trusty Uber Chic mat, then I grabbed my stamper, ‘smooshed’ it into the wet polish, then ‘smooshed’ it on my nails! Pretty cool!
The colours I’ve used here are; Picture Polish Fairy Floss, Celestial Sun Spots and Pretty Serious Granny Panties.
I sealed all that in with a coat of topcoat and added my favourite geometric stamping design, which is from Emily de Molly Plate 03. The white stamping polish is Celestial+Color4Nails Pearl.
I really loved this design and was pleased that it turned out just as I had pictured it. I also really enjoyed the stamper ‘smooshing’. That is definitely my kind of nail art!
Now I’m going to go and check out the work by all my talented friends in PATN. I hope you’ll do the same, I can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with!
