Celestial Cosmetics Bollywood Collection

October 31, 2015

Tonight I have a gigantic post for you because I just have to show you the newest collection from Celestial Cosmetics! And, while I have you here, I’ll be popping up their November LE too!

I’m going to jump right in and say that I LOVE this collection! Want to know why? I’m going to tell you whether you like it or not right?! Hahaha! The finishes and colours in this collection are stunning, all stunning, and all so different to what I was expecting from Celestial for these polishes.

As you probably guessed from the title, the collection is inspired by all things Bollywood, of which, ashamedly, I have no idea about. What I do know about though is colour, and for that, these polishes really tickled my toes! Let’s go!

Celestial Cosmetics Mumbai Music Artificial Light

Artificial Light

Mumbai Music is inspired by the town in the movie, Chalte Chalte. It is a rich blue holographic polish that leans green in certain lighting. It has a beautiful blue shimmer that gives it a heap of sparkle and depth without being too OTT. In the sun, it’s like looking into a deep lagoon! If you like blue polishes, you need this one in your stash, that’s for sure!

It applies very well and without issue. My swatches are two thin coats and no topcoat. It dries super glossy on it’s own.

Celestial Cosmetics Dilwara Artificial Light

Artificial Light

Dilwara was a bit of a surprise for me. The name was taken from the temples in the movie Devdas. Dilwara has a super smooth gold base with linear holo and red glitters. In the past I’ve always not been a fan of polishes that are shiny and smooth with glitters through them. They just never looked right to me! Then I thought, ‘What about trying it without the topcoat?’. Seriously, what a difference! It looks great!

It applied smoothly, the glitters causing me no problems. I applied two thin coats for my swatches.

Celestial Cosmetics Mughal Emperor Artificial Light

Artificial Light

Mughal Emperor is inspired by the lead actor in the movie Jodhaa Akbar. It is a pale mint green with a pink-copper shimmer, holo and gold sparks. So very pretty!  The shimmer is much stronger than it appears in my photos, and so much more lovely!

This one was very sheer on the first coat, but built up nicely needing three coats for my swatches. This also dried glossy, so I applied no topcoat.

Celestial Cosmetics Aluva Artificial Light

Aluva is inspired by the prettiest girl in the region of the movie Prenam. It is a darker toned cornflower blue packed with silver flakes shimmer and holo for depth. It is absolutely beautiful.

This one was a little sheer on application so I needed three coats for my swatches. It dried smooth and glossy so I have no topcoat applied for my pictures.

Celestial Cosmetics Dard-E-Disco Artificial Light

Dard-E-Disco is definitely one of my favourites (if I had to pick one) of the collection. It takes it’s name from a song in the movie Om Shanti Om. It is a vibrant coral with strong pink flakes, gold shimmer and silver flecks throughout.

I applied two coats for my swatches and one coat of Solar Ray topcoat to give it some extra shine.

Celestial Cosmetics Dilbara Artificial Light

The final polish in the Bollywood Collection is Dilbara, named from the song in the movie Dhoom. A beautiful hippy green colour filled with pearly green and turquoise flakes, and well as tiny silver flakes. The flakes make the polish lean greatly towards the teal/turquoise side of the scale. If you enjoy polishes with flakes, I highly recommend you try this one.

For my swatches I applied two coats and one coat of Light Year topcoat. I also recommend wearing a stainproof base coat for this colour, just in case of staining.

The last polish I have to show you today is the November LE. This is inspired by the Imperial Topaz, named for the Russian Czars of the 1800’s. It is an red-toned orange base polish with loose linear holo and pink shimmer.

I applied three thin coats for my swatches and no topcoat.

The November LE will only be available for the month of November.
