OMGosh! The 31 Day Challenge is over, and I finished it!!! I am so happy, but now what am I going to do with my time?! Is there such a thing as 31 Day Challenge withdrawals?
Today I have my mani’s from the final six days to show you as well as a collage at the end of the post of all the mani’s I did. I am so proud of myself and everyone else who completed for giving it a shot!
I found inspired by fashion quite a difficult prompt because I took so many screenshots I could decide what to do! In the end my husband Ash chose this blue and white dress. I decided to do a style of blobbicure to recreate the patterns. I used Cirque Carpe Diem and Hudson to do this mani.
I must confess, when I was reading the prompts I must of not concentrated enough and for some reason got thought the Day 27 & 26 were one. I thought the prompt was ‘Inspired by a pattern artwork’. Don’t even ask me how?!! I was losing my mind looking for patterned artwork, and I’m glad this turned out like a pattern anyway! Inspired by the Obliteration Room at the Museum Of Modern Art here in Brisbane, these are Obliteration nails. I used Pretty Serious Presence and some neon cremes to create the dots.
After my confused moment with Day 26, I was excited and shall we say ‘slightly rushed’ to complete a mani inspired by an artwork. Inspired by the image of Flora in Botticelli’s La Primavera, these were what I came up with. I used Emily de Molly Copper Patina and Monet’s Garden as the base. Over that I did three different lots of stamping. Triple stamping again?
First layer is Nail Stamping Queen Jaded with EDM14 from Emily de Molly. Second layer is Hit The Bottle Everyday I’m Truffling and Joss Crimson Shimmer with BM717 from Bundle Monster. Third layer is Celestisl Cosmetics Midas with m53 from Konad.
I did not particularly enjoy this prompt and am already trying to think up new ideas for the next time I do this challenge! I went with the colours and shapes of a Horde flag (from MMORPG World of Warcraft). I was going to do the symbol but wanted to keep them simple. I used Glam Polish Indulgence as the base and painted some angular french style tips with Pretty Serious Absence. The square black studs are from Bio Sculpture.
When I was doing these for Day 29 I originally wanted to do some kind of ‘spirit’ design using the saran wrap/ cling wrap method. I still used that method however as I went along they turned into a fairy garden which I deemed as supernatural. I really, really loved these ones!
The base is Picture Polish Twinkle and I used Dance Legend 655 from their velvet range and Femme Fatale Cosmetics Haunting Spectre over the top. The flowers are decals from MILV and the fairies are decals by Celestial Cosmetics. I took a close up of the feature nails which I’ll pop in below.
I had a few tutorials I wanted to try but ended up going with this one by @narmai which featured Sugar Spun nails. It is a method I had never previously tried and it was so super cool how it turned out! The base is Elevation Polish NYC (you have got to try this polish!) and the drizzles are done with Dance Legend 655 and 659 from their Velvet range.
Lastly and one I was really looking forward to was honour nails that I love. I chose Paulina from @paulinaspassions as my target because her nails are always stunning and every single one of her mani’s I want on my nails! No word of a lie! I went with a simple on of hers that I thought I could dupe pretty well. Even still, my lines are not as pure as hers! I used Pretty Serious Presence and Celestial Cosmetics March 2015 LE. Where Paulina had little gold triangle studs, I opted for a pearl instead. I have just taken these off today after wearing them around for three days, they were so gorgeous and got so many compliments!
So, that’s it guys! Thankyou so much to everyone here, on Instagram, Facebook, and those who’ve listened my thoughts via PM for encouraging me to continue with the challenge. I enjoyed it so much and it is SO nice, after two solid years of pretty much pure swatching, to have some creative mojo back! Nail Art is something you’ll definitely be seeing more of here because it makes me so happy! I hope you like it too!
