Arghhhh. We’re nearly there guys! I am astounded at myself! So this will be the second last round-up post. The next one will be when it’s all over and done with.
Today I’m showing you my entries for days 17-24 of the 31 Day Challenge. There were some ones in here that I really loved.
I was kind of stumped with what to do for glitter. Part of me just wanted to swatch a glitter polish. I’m glad I chose to go with the flow with how this idea turned out though. It was so fast to do!
I applied a chevron nail vinyl to my nail, did one coat of black (Pretty Serious Absence) and stuck on some random round raspberry holo glitters. This looked pretty cool I thought.
This one was clearly planned in my head, but turned out nothing like what I imagined it. The nails with the decals need something more don’t you think? After I had taken it off I wished I had used the red polish to draw the halfmoon area on the middle and ring fingers. I think that would’ve brought the whole look together a bit more.
The decals are MILV number 186, and the polish I used was Dance Legend Gel Effect 1040. I hand painted the half moon area as I had no stickers.
There was a story behind my galaxy nails. At present we are a one car family, which means each day we are up at 5am to drive my husband to work. As we are coming out of Winter now it has always been dark around then lately and myself and the three boys look out the car at the Morning Star every time! I love it! It’s my favourite star!
Anyway, that’s what this mani was meant to be and that’s why it’s kind of in a gradient style! I can’t even remember what I used for this mani. I know there was Absence, Eye Of Copernicus and Racy Lingerie by Pretty Serious. I used two duo chrome Celestial samples to help create the shading, and the stars are done with Dance Legend Katana.
By this day I had fallen behind by a day, and while this didn’t work out how it was meant to, I decided it would have to do! I used Celestial Cosmetics Men Of Mayhem and Pretty Serious Absence (god I use that a lot huh?) Men Of Mayhem did not marble very weel for this. It was a little too thin to keep it’s strong colour. In retrospect, what I should’ve done was Men Of Mayhem on the base and a clear and black watermarble.
I was super happy with this one! This was inspired by a ball? of yarn that a friend of mine had recently spun. It has the most amazing gradient of colours, so I really wanted to try and replicate it. I think I got it pretty close. Regardless, this looked really nice and I’m so glad I went and did it!
On the base I used Picture Polish Nougat, Camo and Malt Teaser. The stamp is from Moyou Pro 01 and I used Celestial & Color4Nails stamping polishes in the colours Pearl, Melina and Viridian.
On this day I was lazy and thought I shuld bring out my collaboration polish with Pretty Serious, Kashmir. I applied Santa’s Sunburn to my middle and ring fingers, then added some fancy diamond nail vinyls from Loki’s Lacquer to create this look. It was simple, and pretty! Also, this is the day I realised that I can now post rectangle pics to Instagram, hence my rectangle here. Day! Made!
At first I wanted to do nails inspired with Elizabethtown which I absolutely love, but instead, after going through the dvd’s, chose the colour scheme on the cover of The Dark Crystal. I really enjoyed the effect of these, and I took a macro for some flakie love!
I applied two coats of OPI Just Lanai-ing around and two thin coats of Femme Fatale Cosmetics Ever Elusive. I stamped over it with Moyou Kaleidoscope 03, and stamping polish from Celestial & Color4Nails Camellia. I popped a rainbow multichrome stud to the center of each nail.
Lastly was the prompt Inspired by a Book, this one was difficult. I also teamed this with our prompt from Paint All The Nails Negative Space. You can read all about what I used for this mani HERE.
Overall I am happy with this lot of mani’s, I’ve found myself feeling a bit more creative and sticking to my style. I like the way that the challenge has made me think outside my little box a bit more.
Stay tuned for mid next week when I do my final round-up!
