Simple July 4th Nail Art!

July 2, 2015

Nothing To Disclose

I know, I’m Australian! So why am I doing July 4th nails?!

Well one reason is because I felt like it πŸ™‚

The other reason is, and this may come as a surprise to you, but around 60% of my lovely readers here are from America, so why not do something?! So, this is for you to say thank-you for your support the last 18 months!

I had originally planned on doing some stamping with red and blue on my feature nails for this mani, but changed my mind when I visited the lovely Emily’s blog, The Lacquerologist, and seeing her awesome polka dot mani. So this mani was definitely inspired by her! I thought to myself dots are cute, and I havent done any for ages!

I applied my base coat, Pretty Serious Cosmetics Force Field Protective Base, because I have zero trust for mainstream blue’s, then applied two coats of Sally Hansen Blue It.

On my thumb I did two coats of Essie Dress To Kill.

My middle and ring fingers have Cirque CarpΓ© Diem as the base, and I then used a dotting tool to apply the red and blue dots.

After waiting a few minutes for it to dry, I used Cirque Liquid Laminate topcoat to seal it all in.

This mani took me practically no time to do and I absolutely love it! It’s so simple anyone can do it and it would look great in a whole range of colours.

I know these are a couple of days early, but thought I might share now in case you are chasing some inspiration.

Happy Independence Day guys! Enjoy your celebrations wherever you may be!

That’s nice of you to do. When is Australia’s Independence Day? Someone should return the favor.

    • Thanks! We have ‘Australia Day’ I think that’s as close as it would get, and it’s January 26th. Go hard on the green and gold hehehe

    • We don’t have an Independence Day, Tanya, but we do have Australia Day, which is the 26th January.

  • Love this, Chris, even though I’m also an Australian. After all, our flag is blue, red and white, too, even though our official sporting colours are green and gold. Love the dotting, and it has just reminded me I should do a dotting mani soon. Thanks for sharing your ideas and inspiring us to do more.
