Beyoncé Rise Sheer Inspired Nail Art

April 20, 2015

Today I have a really fun post I’d like to share with you. I was recently sent a bottle of a new Limited Edition fragrance by Beyoncé. Named Rise Sheer, this scent is a lighter, fresher version of the previously released Rise. And of course, I simply had to do some nails based on the scent.

I thoroughly enjoyed doing these and I hope you’ll enjoy seeing them too. I think what better way to show a product I love, and team it with some nails, and of course, include some of my much loved indie polishes too. If I could incorporate my Aussie indies into any aspect of my life, I’d be most pleased. Read on to find out more about the nails, and of course, about the scent.

Firstly I’ll talk about the scent. If you’d rather look at the nails only, scroll on down. The scent is, in my opinion worth knowing about though.

I have a lot of favourite perfumes. From tiny little vials of oils to full bang bottles of expensive, saucy scents, I love them, and wear them daily. As you can probably tell from the usage of this bottle, I have worn it quite a bit since I received it a couple of weeks back.

When looking for an everyday scent, I usually go for something not too spicy, not too floral, more of a fresh scent. I also want to wear something slightly age appropriate now that I’m seeing the ‘four-oh’ on the horizon in a couple of years. This one has all I want. One spritz and it leaves me smelling like I’ve just stepped out of the shower all day long. Running around after three kids, that’s what I want, no need, to smell like. That’s the illusion I want to create. Fresh!

From the official press release;

“A sparkling, fresh floral, BEYONCÉ RISE SHEER is a lighter, fresher version of the alluring BEYONCÉ RISE scent. Featuring notes of citrus, orchid and blonde woods, it offers all of the gold sophistication of RISE with a fresh and alluring attitude.”

Top notes: Italian Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon, Iced Basil Sorbet
Middle Notes: Gold Symphony Orchid, White Peony, Hydroponic Jasmine
Bottom Notes: Blonde Woods, Sheer Musk, White Amber

I definitely pick up on the bergamot and citrus-y feel which has a great uplifting effect for me whilst underneath the touch of floral is girly and the Basil makes it have that fresh scent. I thoroughly enjoy the smell.

But what about those nails right…..

I wanted to create a fresh look to match with the scent, and pick up that sheer sparkle, as well as throw in some angular yellow gold sparkle too. I am really happy with the look that was created. Isn’t it the best feeling when you see an inspiration and it turns out just as you picture in your head? It may not happen often, but when it does….

For my base I didn’t want just any old stark white creme. I chose to use Forbidden Fruit by Pretty Serious Cosmetics which is a slightly greyed out white with a delicate silver shimmer throughout. I’m so lucky that in some of the images some of that gorgeous shimmer picked up spot on.

I then applied striping tape and used JOSS More Nail Gold to create angular triangles. Some more striping tape, and I filled in with Pretty Serious Cosmetics Glitz & Glamour.

I went through so many gold polishes to find the ones I wanted. I choose JOSS gold for it’s boldness and brightness, and Glitz and Glamour with it’s whisper of gold mixed with silver was the perfect addition and exactly what I wanted for this look.
