A Christmas Gift from Celestial Cosmetics

December 13, 2014

I have something so very special to share with you today, but first, let me say something…

When I started doing all this, firstly I had no idea just how big and close-knit the indie world was, secondly, I had no idea of the friendships that could bloom within.

I play World of Warcraft, and many years ago, when I was a far more active player I made friends that I spoke to off the game that I knew I would never meet in real life, but yet they were friends. They were people I vented to, shared good news with and vice versa. Well, that petered off and I often laughed at my husband about him not wanting to offend people he’d never meet in the real world and his loyalty to online friendships.

How funny it is now, that I have made some amazing friendships and met some of the kindest, most generous people by being in this community. They are friends who I would gladly have over to my house, meet my children, and share a coffee and a chat with. They are there for me when I need to let go of some steam, they help me keep a level head when making important decisions, and they’re there just to chat with whenever I feel like blabbing some silly crap. They are just as important to me as friends I have in the flesh.

Earlier this week I was feeling pretty sick, my kids had kindly shared a virus with me, when the Australia Post delivery lady rocked up with a huge package from my dear Nicki, the owner of Celestial Cosmetics. I thought maybe she’d been super busy and was going to smash me with polish to swatch for the new year.

I had no idea, and was thrown so very off-guard by her generous gift of Christmas cheer. There were gifts and cards for my kids, beautiful trinkets for myself and my husband, and of course, in there were two gorgeous polishes. Two very special creations that Nicki made for her closest friends as a Christmas gift. I was touched, so very touched, by her thoughtfulness, and anyway I thought I’d share a couple of pics of those polishes here with you today.

Mistletoe Magic is a stunning shade of green jelly and contains beautiful pink-blue colour shifting flakies and shimmer. I adore it and have nothing like it in my stash! The inclusions are much more prominent in the flesh to what the camera wanted to capture. Such a unique and lovingly created polish by Nicki.

I wore this one with two coats, and one coat of topcoat.

The stunning Ho, Ho, Ho. I can just imagine people falling over their feet to get hold of this one. How lucky am I though?

It has a vibrant purple base, filled with blue-purple-gold shifting shimmer. Gorgeousness!

I wore this one with two coats and one of topcoat again.

I feel so blessed that I was thought of by Nicki for Christmas. She is seriously one of the warmest people I know. I often refer to her as my mumma bear, as I can imagine she’d be tough, but all soft and cuddly at the same time, lol. Sorry Nicki.

I can’t make polish, I can’t really make anything at all, all I can do is write. So, Nicki, thankyou so much for your gifts and kind words, and being there for me whenever I need you. You mean more to me than you know!

I hope you guys like that I decided to share these with you. Sorry you can’t have them, but I hope it inspires the season of giving, friendship and kindness for you.

Don’t take anyone in your life for granted guys! Everyone comes into our lives for a reason, I firmly believe that it’s no accident, appreciate them, good or bad.

  • I agree, everyone comes for a reason, and everything happens for a reason and you deserve all the lovely people who have come into your life because what you do is such an unselfish thing, you work very hard for your readers and the ladies and gents who choose to have you swatch for them, there is a whole lot of heart, work and love in every post. Nicki is a doll for making your day with such a lovely surprise. Oh and Ho Ho Ho ……. oh Yeah Yeah Yeah. They are both beautiful but that one is my favourite. And damn girl, you could make polish, and I was so surprised when I read that because with your talent with colour and knowing what is pleasing to the eye, I thought you would have been a long time frankener. Next time I change my FB photo it will be one of my creations, I can’t stop making polish and it’s quite scarey how addictive it is. If I can, you can. Enjoy your goodies Chris xoxo Jo

Oh, do you make polish? Is it just for your personal use or do you have a brand? Thankyou for always taking the time to leave comments on here for me. Comments from my readers mean the world to me. xx

  • No I don’t have a brand it’s just a hobby, who am I trying to kid, it’s an obsession, but I am tremendously proud of our Aussie Indie polish makers, our girls are really kicking it out there and have been for quite some time. You are very welcome with regards to comments, I havn’t been a consistent commentor, the main reason being, I’ve never known if individual bloggers enjoyed comments. Since reading your lovely Welcome blog I feel I have an invitation to chat and share views and that’s lovely. xoxoxo Jo
