It’s a public holiday here today, and the last day of school holidays, so I’ve managed to relax a bit and help get my oldest ready to go back to school. It’s going to be a difficult couple of months for us until the end of the year as we have some huge decisions to make for my boy’s schooling. I am busy preparing my swatches and posts way ahead of time to cover any standstills on my end.Today I have a super polish to show you, and some cool, easy Halloween nail art I’ve paired it with. The polish is called Firestarter by Australian brand, Gloss’n’Sparkle. from the Stephen King inspired, Hail To The King Collection Part 2.
Firestarter is a stunning, bright orange red jelly based polish that is just perfect for Halloween mani’s. It has a lovely combination of red, golden, holo and orange glitters, and a fiery red shimmer that I think is outstanding. A really great combination of colours.
Deliciously opaque for a jelly, this one only needed two coats and it was perfect. I topped it with one coat of The Shining. All photographs were taken in direct sunlight, therefore losing a tad bit of the depth Firestarter shows to the naked eye. The shimmer is simply stunning off camera.
When I first saw Firestarter it instantly reminded me of Halloween, and on the weekend I saw the prompt for our AN Monday group, ‘Orange and Black’. We have a whole month of Halloween themed prompts…YES!!
I took the opportunity to make a little ‘look’ using Firestarter as the base. I used zig-zag, and bat decals from Celestial Cosmetics to create this look. The black polish I used is Apocalypse, also by Celestial Cosmetics.
I absolutely adore how these turned out. It’s funny how something so simple can please me so much.
What do you think? Do you like mani’s like this for Halloween?
I can’t wait to see what pop’s out this month from all the fabulous nail artists I know. Eeeek! Halloween nails are the best!
