We all know Femme Fatale Cosmetics is Australia’s leading stockist of some of the finest international artisan nail polish brands, but we must never overlook Femme Fatales own fantastic brand of cosmetics and nail polish. Sophie, the creative genius of Femme Fatale is always a front runner in the artisan nail polish world here in Australia, and her latest releases do not disappoint.
Approximately a month ago, Femme Fatale Cosmetics had a ‘sample sale’, in which we found lots of awesome shades in very limited quantities. Due to connection issues on the night and her adoration for us wonderful fans, she decided to produce and release a few of the shades. Some of them are included here. In total there were seven new polishes released. Four shimmery/holo-ey/ flakie potions, and three thermos. Today I am showing you the former four. Pic heavy post!
Shadeling is an eerie, ghostly muted blue with a strong pink shimmer to the naked eye and holo rainbow. The formula of this is stunning, I did two even coats and it levelled very nicely on the nail, it was very easy to apply. I did not apply top coat for my swatch. Each of these photos were taken in direct sunlight to try and capture the base, the shimmer and the holo.
Ethereum was a tricky one for me to capture. This polish is an almost warm, dusty pink with a holo rainbow. You can see in it a mind boggling, sometimes blue/sometimes pink shimmer. In the shade, and to the naked eye, the blue shimmer is dominant, but at other times, the pink shimmer is all you see. It’s a very complex polish, that when it came to photographing, the blue shimmer was captured as the blinding white in the photos. I applied two coats of this sparkly delight, with no top coat. I have wondered if applying top coat would make the blue shimmer pick up for the camera more, and that is something I’ll have to experiment with. I hate being defeated by a nail polish 🙂
Falling Glacier is a satiny, freshwater pearl looking polish with a great holo rainbow and a very strong icy blue shimmer. This is a truly magical shade, I felt like the White Witch from Narnia while I wore it, and I could turn people to icy statues with just a point of my finger. I did three thin coats for my swatch with no topcoat. I love this shade, and I have nothing like it in my collection, it’s a work of art!
This was top pick on my wish list from the sample sale, and I missed out, so I was stoked that Sophie chose to re-make it. A delightfully complex polish that I LOVE!! Apothecary is a light turquoise, almost sea green colour with a metallic green shine giving it an almost foil appearance. The polish also contains a golden shimmer and flakies, slight holo, and possible glassfleck. I’m not really sure, but there is a lot going on, and each component compliments the other so well. The formula is slightly thicker than the others, but definitely not too thick and not at all difficult to work with. I applied two even coats, and one coat of topcoat.
These four amazing polishes are available now from Femme Fatale Cosmetics, and need to be seen to be truly appreciated. They are retailing for $12.50 each so grab them while you can, because we don’t know if they’ll be made available for long.
Also, on a side note, today Femme Fatale Cosmetics have launched their new Post-Apocalyptic Collection, which is a cosmetic collection, made up of 21 eye-shadows and 3 blushes all inspired by the weird and wonderful Land of Oooo, so make sure you check them out while you browse the site.
