I hope you all enjoyed seeing What’s In-Die Box Part 1 last night. Today I have Part 2 to show you, which includes the other three polishes with the Superheros and Villains Theme from March. Let’s get into it.
The first star of this post is by Glam Polish. Entitled ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’ we have a polish inspired by the song sung by Ursula the Sea Witch in the film, The Little Mermaid. This polish is a dusty deep purple, with what looks to me to be glassflecks and a scattered holo. On application the polish has a slightly textured effect due to all the tiny glitters. I love polishes like these, because when you see that slightly textured look when you’re applying the polish, you just know it’s going to be one heck of a sparkly eyegasm when that topcoat goes on. I applied two coats on its own, and one coat of topcoat to finish. The polish applied really evenly and smoothly, I had no issues with balding, which is something I tend to get at times with polishes like these. I had a great idea whilst swatching this and I’m a bit excited about using this one for some nail art down the track some time.
Also thought I’d mention that this polish came in one of the brands new bottles. They are a really cool retro style bottle, similar to the current Enchanted Polish bottles, except with the white lid. I love the new bottles, they make the polish feel like a collectable.
The second polish in this box was from Arcane Lacquer. Inspired by it’s namesake, Poison Ivy. Just seeing the pictures of the sexy Poison Ivy, made me excited to see what this polish would look like. And Arcane Lacquer has not let us down again. True to her style of late, we have a deep forest green/blue crème, that has a stunning high green/blue glass fleck type shimmer, and flecks of red to juxtapose the green delightfully. Arcane sure does know a thing or two about colour palettes, this is an enchanting combination and one of my favourite types of polish at the moment. I did two coats of this polish for the following swatches and one of topcoat.
And finally, the last polish to star in this months What’s In-Die Box, is called Harley Quinn from Sayuri Nail Lacquer. Harley Quinn is based on the character of the same name from the Batman comic series in which she is the sidekick to the evil Joker. I was not too sure about this polish when I saw it, however I was pleasantly surprised, and it actually reminded me of food (my connection to food and nail polish baffles even myself). This polish is a white based crelly with a good splattering of white shimmer, black and red glitters, including little black diamonds. It applied really nicely, full opacity in two coats, the glitters went evenly on the nail, and even the diamonds came out and sat nicely. One coat of topcoat was all it took for smoothness, which I was very happy with. I really like how is looks on my nails, and to the food reference, it looks like a choc-chip vanilla ice-cream with little bits of raspberry lolly in it…Yummo!
My thought on the box as a whole for this month? I’m impressed. Usually there will be a polish I’m not a huge fan of, but all five of the additions for this month each added something unique, were representative of their inspiration, and well made. I can see myself using all five of these polishes for several things in the future. Keep you eyes peeled for what I do with them.
