Good Afternoon Everyone
I have a secret…shhhhh!
When Femme Fatale Cosmetics sent me a press kit for this month I was totally blown away. Still amazed at being given the honour. Femme Fatale Cosmetics not only have their own amazing line of handmade artisan polish’s, they are Australia’s leading stockist of many of the world’s most amazing Indie brands., I was so excited to see this polish included for review. I’m sure Sophie (owner/creator) didn’t know, I am, as you say, ‘not well known’, that this was the polish that started my Indie addiction. This was the first indie polish I ever bought, and is still my most favourite artisan polish ever!
So, without any further ado, today I bring to you Edge Of The Cosmos. This lacquer is an ever-changing galaxy in a bottle! Floating in a deep purple/black/magenta base, along with holographic specks, you will find an assortment of holo shapes, for example, stars, moons, dots, hexes, etc. The super cool thing, as stated on her website,Sophie slightly varies batches of this polish, to embody the changing nature of the galaxy. I didn’t realize this, so imagine my surprise when on the brush of the press bottle came, a big black dot, aka black hole! Wicked! There aren’t any of these in my original bottle, I’m sure.
The colour inspiration for this polish came from the MMORPG game World Of Warcraft, and this was the reason I originally fell in love with it. The environmental influence for Edge Of The Cosmos, comes from one of the most beautifully animated places, called, Netherstorm. The name of the polish, is also the name of a weapon which you get by killing a guy in a ‘dungeon’ in Netherstorm. Needless to say I went in daily for the last ten days, but do you think this weapon would drop so I could get a screenshot of it…Noooo! Below I have some shots of the Netherstorm galaxies, and a picture of the Edge Of the Cosmos Weapon that I found online.
And below, my swatches of the beautifully captured Netherstorm in a bottle, Edge Of The Cosmos.
This is two dabbled coats, and two coats of Glisten&Glow HK Girl Topcoat.
And now ‘The Twist’!
On Femme Fatale Cosmetics website, in the product description, Sophie states that this polish looks amazing layered over the top of Twilight Meteorite (another polish of hers). My twist is, that I like to layer one coat of Darkmoon Fortune over the top of Edge Of The Cosmos. It gives the polish even more of an amazing depth, and the bronze hexes and blue iridescent glitters in Darkmoon Fortune are spectacular. Take a look!
Isn’t it beautiful? The amazing thing is the polish is as ever-changing as a galaxy, and looks different in many lights, sometimes blacker, sometimes like a good port wine. At different angles, different glitters reveal themselves. A breathtaking creation, far more gorgeous in real life than on the computer.
Edge Of The Cosmos is available at www.femmefatalecosmetics.com.au and not only does Sophie ship internationally, her brand is available at numerous stockists all over the world. No-one has a reason to miss out on this. Ps- Darkmoon Fortune has been discontinued (sadface), there is some stock left, but when it’s gone, it’s gone, so be quick!
Thanks for reading, and I really hope you’ve enjoyed my take on this nail polish, as it’s one that is dear to my heart (Can you feel emotion for a nail polish?)
Have a great day
